Carbon Peel treatment or popularly known as Carbon Peel Laser and ‘‘The Hollywood Peel’’ has been in the spotlight in the recent years, celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Aniston are known to include it in their routine before a red-carpet event, but why has become so well-received recently?
First of all, it is a quick yet efficient treatment, after one session, your skin will feel clean and glow from within. They also call it the “Lunch Peel” since each session lasts about 20 minutes. You can leave during your lunch break and return looking with rejuvenated skin. It is recommended for those with acne prone and oily skin. It also treats mild acne scars and blemishes, as well as fine lines too.
What does it do?
This procedure deeply exfoliates your skin, removing all the dead skin cells, dirt and sebum from the treated area. It is suitable for all ages and skin types. Treatment areas include the face and the back. Typically, 3-6 sessions are required for optimal results.
How does it work?
Firstly, the clinic assistants will cleanse your skin and remove any excess makeup if any. Next, a layer of a carbon lotion is thinly applied onto the skin. The carbon is then removed through the laser, taking along all the dirt embedded in the pores.
Once most of the carbon is removed, a Q-switched laser will be applied to further exfoliate the skin at the deeper layer. At this stage, you will feel a mild tingling sensation. This laser removes all that dead skin cells and toxins which causes our face to look dull and have an uneven skin tone. There is minimal to no downtime. Some may experience slight redness or swelling which will subside within 1-3 hours.
To wrap up, the clinic assistants will apply a hydrating sheet mask to lock in the nutrients and allow your skin to recover after the laser. After removing the mask, sunblock will be thinly applied onto the skin.
